The four models
KEYS 1–4HungaroMet
The national service's convection-permitting model over the Carpathian Basin, four runs a day — the flagship here.

HungaroMet
HungaroMet's second limited-area model, on a finer, wider grid, with composite radar reflectivity.

Deutscher Wetterdienst
The German service's European nest, every three hours — with the upper air: 850 hPa, 500 hPa and the jet.

The outside benchmark: the most skilful global deterministic model by most scores, with CAPE, visibility and 100 m wind.

How to read this page
Switching model holds the instant, not the forecast hour. The four run on different cycles and cadences, so +12 h on one is rarely +12 h on another. This page keeps the valid time across every switch and says when the nearest frame it could find is off. Times are Budapest's — CET, or CEST in summer; the runs keep their UTC names (00Z, 06Z, 12Z, 18Z).
The colours are not comparable between models. The values are. Each model is drawn on its own palette, so the legend is redrawn every time you switch. To compare, click the map: all four are probed at that point, at the same instant, in one set of units.
A field a model does not publish stays in the menu, greyed. Only WRF carries radar reflectivity, only AROME and ECMWF CAPE, and the upper air (850 and 500 hPa) is HungaroMet's and ICON-EU's.
Every county has its own address. /maps/balaton, /maps/pest, /wrf/hajdu-bihar — 27 frames in all, and the county plate on the front page links to each.
